3rd Airport Management and Development Conference in Beijing
On 12 March 2010, Lufthansa Consulting will co-host its 3rd airport conference for the aviation industry with the Civil Aviation University of China (CAUC) in Beijing. Following the success of the two previous events for Central and Eastern European airports in 2007 and for airports in Russia and CIS in 2008, the focus this year will be on hub and regional airports in China. At the conference, both commercial and technical topics will be addressed by experts from Lufthansa Consulting and the Civil Aviation University of China. These topics include development trends of airport cities, efficiency of different management models, strategic airport development with airlines, runway security and cargo development for airports. In recent years, the Chinese aviation industry has experienced an enormous upswing. China’s aviation market is undergoing remarkable growth due to its increasing liberalization, the breakneck pace of domestic demand and the gradual relaxation of foreign investment in the aviation sector. Not only the mega-airports in the three hubs Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou but also regional airports must face this new challenge. The question as to how airports will meet the resulting demand will provide plenty of food for discussion and an exchange of views among the delegates. Lufthansa Consulting anticipates another successful event following the extremely positive feedback received after the specialist conferences in 2007 and 2008. Guests at the event praised the idea behind the conference: “An excellent event that brought together the region’s airports,” one investor commented. And an airport representative added: “I was delighted to be invited to this interesting symposium – and if the opportunity arises, I will attend the next one!“ Further specialist conferences on other specific aviation areas are planned for this year and next year. The dates will be announced well in advance on our website: www.lhconsulting.com
